“AREA_88”

The reasons that draw each of us towards the camera and image creation may be similar, or they may be completely different. However, these two situations have a common denominator. Photography waits for no one.

A portrait that I left pending, influenced by a procrastination stemming from the certainty that nothing is likely to change in the immediate future. It was the cause for me to feel on my skin, the above "axiom" which I inspired, for myself.
My social curiosity is the main reason for me to engage in the process of photographic documentation. The daily struggle of people who fight with whatever means they have, being outside a system that tries to crush them, is I would say the most interesting subject.
Observing and recording this struggle through the emotions and thoughts that appear prominently on people's faces, in combination with the place they are in, is my photographic focal point.
Such a person was my uncle Nikos. Through this specific album of mine, I am trying to compose the face of my uncle, in the place where he was born, in the land he worked, and in the area he left.
